Peanut Butter Banana Strawberry Pupsicle

It’s almost summer and you can feel the heat when going outdoors. These pupsicles will help your doggies to beat the heat. Plus they’re super healthy and you can eat them too. They are made with just three ingredients; peanut butter, bananas, and strawberries. I topped them with blueberries but that’s optional. Even though I totally recommend it because blueberries are packed with antioxidants that are so beneficial for them.  Make sure the Peanut Butter that you use it’s natural and has no sugar added, stevia, or any other sweetener can harm your dog.

I’ve been rescuing and adopting animals since I was five years old. Sometimes if I found a homeless pet on the streets when I lived in Puerto Rico, I used to take them with me and hide them in my closet from my parents. Yes, my mom knew it but I didn’t want to get in trouble. I learned a lot from those experiences. In Puerto Rico, there are more than 300, 000 abandoned dogs and 1,000,00 cats around the island. The government doesn’t care about it, leaving the animal rescuers and non-profit organizations on their own.

On the left side is Kathy, our 16-year-old Puerto Rican Lab Mix. She was wandering the streets when I rescued her. She was just a baby and very neglected. Frida was born on the streets of Toa Baja, Puerto Rico and we rescued her and now she’s living a great life here in New Hampshire.

The situation is really sad and heartbreaking. After Hurricane Maria, a lot of people abandoned the island and left their pets on the streets adding to the population of unowned animals. The Humane Society of the United States responded to this crisis by establishing SpayathonTM for Puerto Rico, a coalition of 28 national and international groups coming together for the first time to spay, neuter, and vaccinate at least 85,000 dogs and cats across the island.  The Spayathon was founded on a historic agreement signed between the Humane Society of the United States, the Puerto Rico government, the Veterinary Association, and the Veterinary Board, allowing teams of high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter veterinarians to practice on the island for the first time ever, assembling the largest coalition dedicated to mass spay/neuter efforts.

I don’t have ownership of this video just sharing it from The Humane Society Youtube to create awareness.

Three local veterinarians in Puerto Rico sued the government for allowing these allegedly illegal Spayathon, stating that the Vets were not properly licensed. On June 5th, 2020 the judgment was released whereas these individuals, the veterinarians, won the case. Spayathon is a valuable and much needed program in Puerto Rico. Without it, our chaotic situation with abandoned animals will only get worse. Please sign the petition and help bring back the Spayathon. Here’s the link http://chng.it/hF5Jr9DYWt
