Easy Homemade Pizza Dough (No Knead, No Rise)

This Easy Homemade Pizza Dough is easy to make and it doesn’t require long time for rising or kneading. To begin with, let me tell you that pizza is our favorite easy meal for busy days. Although you may think pizza is pizza no matter where you get it from, it is not. In Puerto Rico, pizza is so good! Pizza places around the island make the pizza crust crispy, bubbly and so flavorful. Unquestionably, bakers around the island enjoy using their creativity with innovative ingredients.

Consequently, I enjoy making my pizza from scratch and trying to resemble the pizza from my favorite place in Puerto Rico.

But let’s go back to this easy pizza dough that doesn’t require rising or kneading. Because pizza has a rustic crust, this dough can be used immediately after mixing. However, I recommend you to at least let it rest for 10 minutes or if you have the time for one hour.

Additionally, this dough is great for making garlic knots and breadsticks. This easy pizza dough is ideal for busy weeknights or when you don’t want to spend much time in the kitchen.

My Favorite Homemade Pizza Toppings:

  • Black olives
  • Peppers
  • Mushrooms
  • Cheese
  • Basil
  • Broccolini

I made garlic breadsticks and mini pizzas for this occasion so I kept it simple. Also, I made a homemade ranch dipping sauce to go with it.

Ingredients for this Easy Homemade Pizza Dough

  • All-Purpose Flour – this is the main ingredient, the one that provides structure to the dough. It gives the dough electricity and a chewy texture. I use high-quality unbleached all-purpose flour.
  • Warm Water – warm water is crucial for activating the yeast and helping the dough to incorporate. The temperature of the water should be warm to the touch but not too hot because it will kill the yeast.
  • Active Yeast – Yeast causes the dough to rise. Be sure to check the expiration date to make sure it is fresh. Otherwise, it won’t work causing the dough not to rise.
  • Sugar – Sugar helps to feed the yeast and promotes a faster rise.
  • Olive Oil – use high-quality olive oil if possible. Olive oil provides flavor and moisture to the dough. These star ingredients will help the dough to get a crispy texture after baking.
  • Sea Salt – Salt enhances the dough’s flavor and balances out the sweetness of the sugar. It also regulates the yeast to prevent it from fermenting to avoid a bitter flavor.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Gluten-Free – Use a gluten-free all-purpose flour that is 1:1 ratio and good quality. If your blend doesn’t contain xantan gum, add 2 tsp.
  • Flavor – If you want a flavored crust, add garlic, herbs, grated cheese, or any other flavor that you like.
  • Size – You can make 2 12’ pizzas or use it to make mini pizzas or breadsticks.
